First Model

For my first model I decided to recreate one of my Japanese kokeshi dolls. I have a small collection and it has a relatively simple shape, so I thought it would be the perfect object to model.

In order to create my model I became very familiar with the revolve tool to create the head and body.screen-shot-2017-01-27-at-4-44-29-pm

I also had to create a shape that would be used to cut out the doll’s face. I revolved the shape 90 degrees; however, to create closed solid I had to copy the shape, turn them into polysurfaces and then join them to the revolved surface.screen-shot-2017-01-27-at-5-01-46-pm

Finally, I used boolean split to cut out the face and boolean join to attach the head and body to produce my final model.
